Workplace workspace dashboards & data protection
WEM’s Managed Cairo workspace operates workspace dashboard oversight of common work areas as a workplace security and productivity measure, in accordance with Egyptian Labour Law 14/2025 and the Personal Data Protection Law 151/2020. All employees are informed in writing of oversight practices at the time of hire and provide written acknowledgement. Workspace dashboards are accessed only by authorised client administrators for the legitimate purpose of overseeing engaged personnel, are transmitted via encrypted channels, and are not retained for longer than is necessary. WEM does not record or surveil private areas (washrooms, prayer spaces, break rooms). Employees retain all rights under Egyptian privacy law, including the right to access, rectify, or object to the processing of their personal data via written request to info@wem-eg.com.
Professional credentials & third-party trademarks
Where WEM personnel hold credentials issued by third-party professional bodies (ESAA, ICMA Australia, CISI, CFI, BDO, etc.), these are accurately attributed to the issuing body and may be independently verified through that body’s public register. All trademark names and abbreviations (CMA®, FMVA®, CISI®, ESAA, IFRS®, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are referenced here for identification and biographical purposes only. References to prior employment with named accounting firms (BDO, Baker Tilly, etc.) reflect documented historical engagements; current WEM service relationships are independent.
Tax & payroll calculators
Calculators on this website (HR Net/Gross Calculator and EOR Cost Calculator) apply the Egyptian Income Tax Law (Law 91/2005 as amended), the Social Insurance Law 148/2019, and the Martyrs’ Families Fund Law 16/2018. Outputs are estimates intended for indicative budgeting and education. They do not replace formal payroll computation, do not account for special-case deductions (annual bonus tax treatment, treaty exemptions, prior-year reconciliations), and should not be used as the basis for actual employee compensation, tax filing, or social-insurance payment. Formal payroll determination requires engagement with WEM’s licensed payroll team.
Pass-through expenses (tickets, travel, equipment)
WEM’s EOR service does not include the cost of air tickets, business travel, hardware, software licences, or any other non-payroll expenses unless explicitly added to the engagement scope. Should a client request that WEM advance or arrange such expenses on behalf of an Egyptian employee (e.g. airline tickets for business travel), WEM may facilitate the disbursement and bill the cost back to the client at actual amount plus any agreed administration fee. These items are billed separately from the monthly payroll invoice and are not part of any ‘all-inclusive’ cost figure shown on this website. The cost-comparison illustrations on this website include such items only on the GCC-side baseline (representing what a direct GCC hire would cost the employer) and do not represent WEM-borne expenses.
